This development project is supported by the Commission for technology and innovation (CTI) of the Swiss Federation<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-19\" src=\"https:\/\/nanoworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/SNOM-PROBE-20110328020357.jpg\" alt=\"SNOM-PROBE-20110328020357\" width=\"210\" height=\"232\" \/>It is carried out together with the following partners:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 IMT (Institute de Microtechnique), University of Neuch\u00e2tel<br \/>\n\u2022 WiTec (german manufacturer of SPM instruments)<br \/>\n\u2022 CSEM (Centre Swiss d&#8217;Electronique et de Microtechnique)<\/p>\n<p>The probes have silicon cantilevers with integrated quartz glass tips.<br \/>\nThe transparent tips are coated with aluminum.<\/p>\n<p>They allow simultaneous use in scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM)<br \/>\nand atomic force microscopy (AFM).<\/p>\n<p>Using such probes, SNOM imaging in transmission mode of single fluorescent<br \/>\nmolecules showed an optical resolution of better than 50 nm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NanoWorld AG is developping a cantilever-based SNOM probe, which will be produced using microfabrication techniques.
