Neuchâtel, Switzerland - Cradle of great innovation and NanoWorld AG

Since the beginning of the 20th Century Switzerland has been a cradle of great Innovations in Precision Mechanics, and today in Micro- and Nanotechnology. Many famous Swiss clock makers started their successful work in Neuchâtel and the atomic force microscopy (AFM) was invented not far from here.

In this perfect infrastructural surrounding NanoWorld AG is located next to the IMT (Institute of Microtechnology University of Neuchâtel) and the CSEM (Swiss Center of Electronics and Microtechnologie). With Cleanrooms and Offices close together we have the best environment to innovate and produce novel scanning probes with maximum efficiency. Our tight collaboration with the IMT creates excellent results and outstanding inventions.

Our NanoWorld Services GmbH in Wetzlar/Germany supports NanoWorld AG and other global players in different fields of applications. Several business processes are outsourced to NanoWorld Services GmbH.

Scanning probes for Atomic Force Microscopy

NanoWorld provides silicon SPM-Probes worldwide. (SPM = Scanning Probe Microscopy)
After introducing the new Arrow™ series, we offer two product lines:

Our well-known Pointprobe® series comprises scanning probes for the widest range of applications.
The Pointprobe® probes are available with different coatings like the Platinum-Iridium(PtIr5) or the Diamond Coated Tips.
Additionally we offer special tip versions like our SuperSharpSilicon or High Aspect Ratio Tips.
Our new Arrow™ series features standard probes for contact, non-contact and force modulation mode that have a tetrahedral tip.
The unique Arrow™ shape of the cantilever allows easy positioning of the tip on the area of interest.

NanoWorld offers a wide variety of Pointprobe® Silicon SPM-Probes

Our Pointprobe®-Probe is a versatile silicon AFM-Probe for very high resolution imaging and fits to all well-known commercial SPMs (Scanning Probe Microscopes). It consists of a single crystal silicon cantilever with integrated single crystal silicon tip. The cantilever and the tip are supported by a single crystal silicon holder. True atomic resolution has been achieved by several research facilities in UHV using our NonContact / TappingMode™ probes NCH and NCL.

Arrows™ Silicon SPM-Probes optimized positioning through maximized tip visibility

Our new Arrow™ probe is designed for easy tip positioning and high resolution imaging. It fits to all well-known commercial SPMs (Scanning Probe Microscopes). The probe consists of a holding chip with a cantilever which has a tetrahedral tip at its triangular free end. The probe entirely made of monolithic, highly doped silicon.
